the program
Part 1: Research
Our program has three parts, (1) research, (2) scientific poster construction, (3) presentation at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting in December. The AGU Fall Meeting is the largest gathering of Earth, Environmental, and Space scientists in the world with over 20,000 members of the scientific community attending.
In Part 1 of the program, students conduct research in small groups (max 5 students) for two weeks. Recent research examined Sierra Nevada Granite Exfoliation, Central Valley Paleoenvironmental Reconstruction, Playground Contamination in Low Income Neighborhoods, and many more.
We often partner with regional research powerhouses such as Stanford University, University of California Berkeley, and federal research agencies.
Expect to spend about 7 days on this part of the program.
